Premium, locally grown, grass-fed, and grain-finished beef. We put the highest priority on animal welfare. A half beef is estimated to meet the beef meat consumption of a family of four for approximately one year.

The cost of the beef is $5/lb (hanging weight).  The final figure will be determined upon processing. In 2023, the steers/heifers we took in averaged around 850 lbs (hanging weight).  They’re not small!  Some may have a hanging weight over 900 lbs.  Once I have the exact weight from the processor, you will pay the remaining. A $250 deposit is required.

Processing fees typically average between $0.75-$0.85/lb (hanging weight), depending on cuts and packaging.  For example, if you want them to make hamburger patties with some of your ground beef, that will cost a little more than just having it all ground.  You will work with the processor directly to select your cuts and packaging.  You will also pay them directly.  If you have never custom ordered directly from a processor before, I will get a cut sheet from them and walk you through all of the questions they are going to ask so that you are prepared when they call for your order.

I would also highly recommend a wifi freezer alarm.  This will alert you audibly as well as phone notifications if the temperature of your freezer drops below a certain level.  I have had freezers go bad in the past that were full of meat.  I have also had kids not quite get the freezer door shut all of the way.  Between the money that I was out and the mess/smell of spoiled food, the alarm was money well spent for peace of mind that I wouldn’t have to go through that again.
